Deborah Hawkins, penned Debra Renée Byrd, began writing after a blank book project in elementary school and never stopped, fashioning stories based on her favorite TV shows and movies before creating more original works. She studied at the University of the Arts and Florida State University before settling down and graduating from Temple University. She now resides in her hometown of Dover, DE, where she spends most of her time at work or at church. She loves fantasies, superheroes, is a trekkie and a brown coat. She loves television and lives for Final Fantasy video games, having collected most of them. She has read a myriad of authors, and her favorite authors change whenever she finds a new book that changes her life... "When you can't run, you crawl. IWSG Part 2: Introductions!

So I wrote my first post yesterday, and today I learn we're to introduce ourselves to the IWSG community. Sheesh. All the links and stuff I usually post are in the other post I posted. lol I'll make this brief.

HELLO! My name is Deborah, and I'm a writer from Delaware. My pen name is Debra McKellan. You can call me Deb. I've been writing since I was 7 years old, and my current focus is YA fantasy. I'm a Final Fantasy addict, hence the blog name and mage over that way ---->.

I'm also a Zumba instructor, singer/songwriter, and churchgoer. lol You may follow me on Twitter at @DebraMcKellan for writer stuff, and @QueenBDeb for non-writer stuff, though every now and then I retweet myself or talk about what I'm reading there.

I did the same exact thing, Debra. Somehow I missed the whole introduction thing. Oops. You're a Zumba instructor? WOW!! That is a difficult but fun class.

Hi Deb! Welcome to IWSG. Where you can say just about anything and have people commiserate with you. I have a great feeling about 2015.

Just FYI, in the upper right hand corner of my blog is a link to my YouTube channel talking about the publishing industry along with goofball antics if you're interested.

It's great to connect with you.

Cheers!

Adrienne

Very cool about the Zumba. I take that fairly regularly at my gym, though the fitness level seems to vary a lot depending on the instructor. There are a few who are great with high energy, and a few I stopped going to because it wasn't enough of a work out. If I've made it to the gym, I want to SWEAT! :) My fave fitness class is a dance fitness class called WERQ, so Zumba is a nice refresher between that.

Welcome to IWSG! I just started posting with them last year.
