Deborah Hawkins, penned Debra Renée Byrd, began writing after a blank book project in elementary school and never stopped, fashioning stories based on her favorite TV shows and movies before creating more original works. She studied at the University of the Arts and Florida State University before settling down and graduating from Temple University. She now resides in her hometown of Dover, DE, where she spends most of her time at work or at church. She loves fantasies, superheroes, is a trekkie and a brown coat. She loves television and lives for Final Fantasy video games, having collected most of them. She has read a myriad of authors, and her favorite authors change whenever she finds a new book that changes her life... "When you can't run, you crawl. IWSG is still on!

While it looks like the other bloghops are on pause, I'm glad this one is still going in April!

Thanks to Alex J. Cavanaugh for creating and continuing this group! Visit his page here http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com/ for his post, his co-hosts, and the list of other Insecure Writers who need your support, and whose support you might need.

This month, I'm kvetching (yes, kvetching) over all of the stuff I have to DO! Just when I thought that once March was over, so I wouldn't have to worry about Easter play rehearsals twice a week, the play itself, then Sunrise service, HERE COMES APRIL to say, "Ha, just kidding, you'll be just as busy this month."

That's me drowning.

On top of that, I have my first critique partner, and I don't want to skimp on her, so every hour of my waking moment will be occupied! At least for this week. It will slow down next week, but all of my Saturdays? Gone.

And I'm tired. No even body tired, sleepy tired! I had 9 hours of very interrupted sleep, and I'm the type of person who, if I didn't get enough sleep Sunday night, the rest of my week is shot. *sigh*

I guess, on the bright side, this will give me a moment to rest my writing brain. I did just go through a minor edit from page 1 to page 320ish...But I kind of want to write still...We'll see what happens!

One thing at a time. You'll get through this. Remember to rest whenever you can. Even if you steal five minutes.

And drink lots of water. :-)

We'll do this! No sleep, but we'll do it!

If I was computer savvy enough, I'd throw you a digital life preserver :)

Don't let things overwhelm you and things will work out in the end.

Hi-- so nice to meet you and visit your blog! I'm helping Alex with hosting duties for IWSG. I have a love hate relationship with being busy. On one hand, it means I am writing and have projects lined up. On the other, as you noted, it can feel like there's just not enough time! Here's to striking a healthy balance that allows time for self-care.
