Welcome back to Wednesday Words, where I use Random.org to share with you a piece of what I am currently reading!
Sometime today I will be starting Mindy McGinnis's A Handful of Dust, the sequel to Not A Drop to Drink, which was a very exciting thriller of a book, so I can't wait to dive into the next part (though I'm at work, so I have to).
There are 374 pages in my Kindle edition somehow (this must be because I have an old Kindle. It said there were 10 less pages in the last book I read), so Random has chosen..................page 142.
Oh great, I don't have to calculate that as a location! Thanks, Mindy! lol
There are approximately 20 lines on page 142, so Random has chosen........................line 3.
The steady clip-clop of their hooves hypnotized Lucy in the heat of the afternoons, causing her thoughts to stray.
I personally love that sound.

Introducing: Wednesday Words
Hello!
As I said, I wanted to start blogging on Wednesdays, so I figured out what I could do, and it's an easy one. :) Every Wednesday, I'm going to use Random.org to pick a page of the book I'm reading and a line or two and post it. See? Very easy, and you get to see what I'm reading as well.
I'm currently reading the fabulous Mindy McGinnis's Not A Drop to Drink, which you may know by now has a German adaptation AND was picked up for a movie! Add it to your Goodreads, and all that other good stuff!
There are 310 pages, excluding the title pages and such, so from 1 to 310, Random.org has given me...13. And there are about 18 lines on that page, so from 1 to 18...5!
Page 13, Line 5 of Not A Drop to Drink:
"Meat's too tough. You burn up more energy chewing it than you get from eating it."
Coyote meat is what she's talking about. Oddly enough, I reflected back on that sentence just yesterday while reading! I was wondering if I'd go ahead and struggle with the meat anyway or try eating a coyote pup, kind of like a deer vs. veal comparison. Ah well. As far as I know, my civilization's not going to crumble down to that point while I'm alive.

Friday Freeday: Thursday Thoughts
I'm making this a habit, aren't I? lolBut seriously, I was trying to figure out since last night what to write about, but being sick since Monday night, my head's been on the foggy can't-breathe-through-my-nose kick. Fortunately, a random thought from Mindy McGinnis made me think of the weird dreams I used to have as a kid.I lived in a townhouse complex in a small not-even-on-the-map town in Southeastern PA (Yardley) where many of the buildings were connected by breezeways. As kids, my sister and our friends used to hang out in them because they echoed and were, slightly breezy. As I said on Mindy's page, I think they sucked all the breezes into themselves somehow.That being said, I always had a love for the fantastical, and I'm honestly just now realizing it. This one was definitely because of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and the idea of getting into another world through something as simple as your closet. When I was a kid, I used to dream about being able to go to another world or even to Delaware where my mom's family lives through one of the breezeways in the complex. I'd know which one it was because it would have lasers criss-crossing through it if you looked at it from a particular angle, and I'd always have to reach it before the lasers disappeared.So, thanks, Mindy! Pleasant memories. :)
